Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Hosts a Reception Celebrating the 99th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army

On July 21st, the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar hosted a reception celebrating the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Over 540 guests attended the event, including Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ma Jia, Defense Attaché Senior Colonel Qu Zhe, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Kyaw Swa Lin, senior military and government officials, members of the diplomatic and defense attaché corps, overseas Chinese, and representatives from various sectors.

In his remarks, Defense Attaché Qu Zhe stated that against the backdrop of the momentous transformation of the world, China remains committed to promoting the implementation of the four major global initiatives and building a community with a shared future for mankind. Over the past 99 years since its founding, the PLA has achieved remarkable results in strengthening the military, actively engaged in UN peacekeeping operations and vessel protection operations, resolutely opposed “Taiwan independence”, and firmly safeguarded peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. This year marks the 76th anniversary of China-Myanmar diplomatic relations. China stands ready to enhance bilateral cooperation with Myanmar and deepen and substantiate the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.

At the reception, a series of promotional videos and photo exhibitions on the Chinese military were showcased. Guests spoke highly of China’s achievements in national defense and military modernization.
