Trench Collapse in India's Rajasthan Kills Four Workers
The tragedy unfolded in Jangi ka Nagla village, located in Bharatpur district roughly 190 kilometers east of Jaipur, the state capital.
"Today, a mud wall of a 10-feet-deep trench collapsed at a site where work is going on under the Chambal drinking water scheme. A total of six people were rescued. Four people have been admitted to the hospital, while two people were declared brought dead. Two more casualties have been reported, thus taking the toll to four," stated Qamar Chaudhary, a senior government official in Bharatpur.
Rescue efforts remain active, with teams from the State Disaster Response Force, National Disaster Response Force, police, and civil defense deployed to the scene, Qamar added.
Emergency crews utilized heavy earthmoving equipment to clear soil and extract the workers trapped beneath the collapsed trench.
